Remote Control Blinds: Convenient Yet Stylish

To control a set of blinds, a person has one of three options: using the blinds' cords, pulling on the blinds if they are cordless and manual, or getting remote control blinds.

The most annoying option is having to mess with a blind's cord. This can also be dangerous if a person has small children in the house, since they tend to get caught up in these cords.

So, the next alternative would be cordless blinds. These are very easy to operate, but like corded blinds, there's one big disadvantage. A person must be close to the window to use them.

This leads the other option of remote control blinds. With these types of blinds, a person doesn't have to deal with cords and they can control their blinds anywhere in the room.

How Does It Work?

So, how do remote control blinds work? Basically, the remote control has several buttons on it. One button allows the blinds to go up, while another button allows them to go down. The last button controls the individual panels on the blinds. This button can make them tilt inward or outward, depending on how much light a person wants to let into the room.

The major advantage with blinds that are remote-based is that they make controlling blinds both automated and mobile. Through the automation a person can get their blinds open or closed at just the right point on their window. And with the mobility, a person can control their blinds right from their bed, sofa or kitchen table if they want to. But it gets even better than that. Consider a set of blinds that are placed on a window that is high such as skylight or cathedral windows. With a remote a person can easily open and shut the blinds without having to get on a ladder to adjust them.

Style And Convenience

What types of blinds can be controlled by remote? The most common are horizontal mini blinds, vertical blinds and cellular shades. However, don't think that just because you have the convenience of a remote you have to sacrifice style. Most blinds that work through a remote come in the same varieties as their corded or manual-cordless counterparts. This includes being able to get blinds that are in different colors, textures or styles.

Pricing

In terms of price, obviously blinds working by remote are a bit more expensive than corded or manual-cordless blinds. However, they are not so much more that their price is crazy. A person could find even more affordable remote-based blinds if they are willing to go to auction sites or shopping comparison sites.

All in all remote control blinds are an excellent way to get blinds that are easy to use and still stylish. They are not as cheap as blinds that are corded or manual-cordless, but they are not that expensive either. In fact, a person would probably pay less for these types of blinds than they would a set of curtains. So, if one is interested in getting a set of blinds for their window, they should definitely consider getting remote-based ones.
